A celebration of Chesterfield nightlife in the 1980s is to be held tomorrow night at the town’s Proact Stadium, the home of the Spireites.
Hundreds of revellers are expected at the event titled ‘Eighties! The Biggest Reunion...Ever!’.
The retro night has been inspired by the success of best selling book The Dirty Stop Out’s Guide to 1980s Chesterfield.
DJ Dave Whyld, who provided the tunes at popular 1980s local venues Montmartre and Moulin Rouge, is returning to the decks for the event.
Dave said he remembered the 1980s as a great era for going out in the town.
He said: “It was a fantastic time to be growing up. There really was so much going on and so many venues.”
Dave said there were many great nights at the Moulin Rouge where he often DJd.
“I remember the night the actor Nick Berry - Simon Wickes in EastEnders - did a PA at the Moulin Rouge. It was absolutely packed and women were throwing their knickers at him!”
The event with tickets priced £7.50 each will also raise money for Ashgate Hospice. Tickets are available on the door.
