Final push for ‘Women of Steel’

Sheffield City Council this week urged residents and businesses to help raise the remaining £40,000 towards a £150,000 ‘Women of Steel’ statue - to salute female factory workers during the World Wars - in Barkers Pool.

It is releasing funds raised over the past year so that artist Martin Jennings can begin work on the lifesize bronze figurative piece, but is looking for a final financial push.
