Food news: Gourmet burger stand moves into market

Shoppers can stop off for a gourmet burger in Sheffield's Moor Market thanks to a new opening.

Twisted Burger Company has moved its festival set up to the food court in its first standalone venture, selling breakfast, shakes and burgers with quirky names such as the Steel City and Piggie Smalls.

“We are part of a scheme that they are doing to rejuvenate the market - and we are really enjoying being down there”, said a Twisted spokesman.

“It’s a fantastic community of retailers and we hope to bring down a widened variation of people. There really is something for everyone down there.”

The stand also sells Twisted Burger Company sauces which are bottled on site.

Other new foodie arrivals at the market include a Thai supermarket, Lemongrass, and butcher Tokhi Meats, which sells halal food.

Pizza takes over at Wig

Sheffield city centre bar and restaurant the Wig & Pen has been rebranded as a new site for sister restaurant Craft &D ough, which specialises in pizza and beer. The Milestone Group previously changed the former Fancie site on Ecclesall Road to Craft and Dough, and there will be three in total, with the original in Kelham Island.

Owner Matt Bigland said: “We changed it because we feel the brand suits the city centre location, the dough side is quick food for lunchtimes and being an after work watering hole the craft side fits the bill!”

New life for suburb pub
