BBC TV Great British Bake Off presenter Mary Berry drew the crowds at the 32nd Chatsworth Country Fair.
She was “hugely popular, really fun to listen to”, said the Duke of Devonshire. “I listened from the back (of her demonstration) and I really enjoyed that. “We were lucky enough to meet her because she came to stay with us.
“I think she enjoyed it. She was very positive about all the things that go on in the farm shop.”
The fair had gone “really well,” said the duke. “The weather’s been superb. There’s a more varied selection of trade stands this year and further changes are planned next year.” Another visitor was fair chairman Lord Coe.
