Music suite proposals put Sheffield school in line for £10k grant

A Sheffield school’s plans for a ground-breaking music technology suite have resulted in it being shortlisted for a possible £10,000 award.

Sheffield High School is one of six secondary schools in England and Wales in the running for the 2014 Randstad Education Awards.

The Broomhill school’s proposals describe how the new suite would help expand music education by developing skills such as recording, production and arrangement as well as exploring new avenues in composition. The result would be a fresh approach, making music engaging and accessible to all.

More than 360 schools entered the awards and entries have been shortlisted to just 18 – six schools across three categories: primary, secondary, and special educational needs.
