Little Mix will celebrate their first Arena headline tour with a special stop in Sheffield - it’s the home city of Eliot Kennedy, who they say helped them to win X Factor,
Grammy award winner Eliot was the show’s Talent Development Producer, who has worked with and written hits for some of the biggest bands on the planet including The Spice Girls, Take That, Boyzone, Blue, Atomic Kitten and SClub7.
Sheffield’s own starmaker helped X Factor judge and mentor Tulisa Contostavios to turn her group of wannabes into first band to win X Factor in 2011.
Two years later Little Mix have sold over three million records, had six smash hit singles, two top five albums, including new album Salute.
Tickets go on sale at 10am tomorrow - Friday, December 6, 2013 - for their first 14 date arena tour, including Sheffield Motorpoint Arena on Saturday, May 24,
And band members Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards, both from South Shields, Jesy Nelson, from Essex, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, of London, say they will always remember the important part Eliot played in their meteoric rise.
Leigh-Anne, aged 22, speaking exclusively to The Star said it would be “amazing” to work with him again in future.
She said: “We absolutely love Eliot. he helped us so much on the X Factor. He was there for us for every single song. He helped with the arrangements and he was absolutely amazing.
“He was like a big uncle, bless him. He was lovely.
“It would be amazing to work with him at his studio in Sheffield. He’s been working with The Mend on a few of their songs. They have a song called Oxygen and they are amazing. So yes, to be able to work with Eliot would be wicked. Who knows, for the next album?”
Latest top three single Move sold over 130,000 copies and next self-penned offering, Little Me, out on December 29, is semi- biographical to inspire young fans - about making dreams come true, says Leigh-Anne.
She’s backing Rough Copy or Luke Friend to follow their dreams and footsteps to win this year’s X Factor.
Of the forthcoming Little Mix tour she added:”We cannot wait. We are so excited. It’s going to be a huge amazing show, with lots of hits and dancing - epic.
“The crowd in Sheffield is always amazing. They are so loud and always up for a good time. We can’t wait to come back and perform for you guys. To be able to do it in an Arena full of our fans is going to be insane.”
In a direct message to Sheffield fans she said: “We’d like to thank you for all your support. We love you lots and we can’t wait to see you guys again - so Merry Christmas and have the most magical time ever.”
