Sheffield indie rockers Reverend and the Makers will perform our first Star Live intimate concert and there’s still time for YOU to be there for FREE, writes Graham Walker.
Frontman Jon McClure and bandmates will perform new songs and classic hits to celebrate the forthcoming release of new album, Thirty Two.
Jon, who named the album after his age, is celebrating with 32 acoustic gigs in the homes of lucky fans drawn at random from all those pre-ordering the album.
But he has saved the final date for The Star and you, our readers.
We have teamed up with Sheffield Council and Mercure St Paul’s Hotel and Spa to host The Star Live event at the Winter Garden on Sunday, February 16.
There will also be an exclusive preview of the album - out on February 24 - with tracks played before and after the gig.
Thornbridge Brewery will be there launching a new Reverend and The Makers American Brown Ale, following the success of the band’s Summer Ale last year.
Jon said: “The Star are great supporters of us and the regional music scene. We are honoured to be doing this and it’s going to be a fantastic night.”
The Heavyweight Champion Of The World stars next play in front of thousands of people on a UK tour, including a sold-out show at Sheffield’s O2 Academy, on March 7.
So The Star Live gig is now your next chance to see them in their home city.
Not that you can buy tickets. The only way of getting in, to join our special VIPs, is to win a place on our guest list.
