Sheffield indie rockers Reverend & The Makers will make history with The Star when we video stream our first Star Live intimate concert - live on the internet this Sunday, writes Graham Walker.

It takes us into a whole new world of multi-media broadcasting.

Chart stars Reverend and the Makers will perform new songs and classic hits to celebrate the forthcoming release of album, Thirty Two.

Frontman Jon McClure, whose age inspired the title, has been promoting it with 32 acoustic gigs in the homes of lucky fans drawn at random from all those pre-ordering the album.

And he has saved the last one for you, our readers, and our first ever Star Live event – this exclusive acoustic concert at the Winter Garden in Sheffield.

But even if you didn’t win, now you can watch live because we are putting Jon and his bandmates in every home and on every internet device in the UK and beyond, by video streaming the concert on our site – a first for The Star – at www.thestar.co.uk

We have teamed up with venue owner Sheffield Council and neighbours Mercure St Paul’s Hotel and Spa, who are providing us with their superfast broadband connection. Darren Wain, technical director of Sheffield-based Stream7 Limited, is also helping us to broadcast the concert live on our website at www.thestar.co.uk

So tune in on Sunday – February 16. It is due to start around 6.15pm.

Fans lucky enough to be attending the gig will also hear an exclusive preview of the album with tracks played before and after the gig.

Thornbridge Brewery will also be there launching a new Reverend and The Makers American Brown Ale, following the success of the band’s Summer Ale last year.

The Heavyweight Champion Of The World stars will also play an in-store set at HMV, High Street, Sheffield, on the day the album is launched, on February 24, at 5.30pm.
