Danielle, aged 21, who has also appeared in the West End, started her musical journey in an amateur production of the show at Barnsley’s Academy Theatre, in the Take2 Centre, Birdwell.

Now she’s entertaining tens of thousands of people on the We Will Rock You arena tour that is taking in Finland, Denmark, Holland, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Turkey, Bulgaria Ireland and the UK.

There’s also talk of it going to Australia.

But the most important date in Danielle’s diary is a homecoming at Sheffield Arena, from May 30 to June 2.

Proud mum Zoe, dad Martin and brother Jacob will be first there.

“I think my mum has bought 40 tickets!” said Danielle.

“It’s going to be a really good night. I’m really looking forward to it. Just seeing all my family again. I seem to have been away for ages.”

Danielle, from Monk Bretton, paid tribute to the Academy Theatre, after appearing in hits Legally Blonde and Respect La Diva.

“I loved doing amateur stuff up at Take2. That’s where I started. If I hadn’t been there then, I wouldn’t be here now. It’s a dream come true,” said Danielle.

“I play quite a few characters, but a Bohemian most. I’ve got a big blonde Mohican wig and a tartan top, a little shimmery skirt and a big star on my face. So family and friends will easily be able to pick me out!

“I got the job after a lot of auditions and thanks to an amazing agent. When I got a call to say I’d got the job it was the most amazing feeling.

“We had rehearsals with Ben Elton and choreographer Arlene Phillips. It was amazing. Queen guitarist Brian May even joined us on stage – that was incredible.”

Kevin Kennedy, who played Coronation Street’s Curly Watts, also stars with X Factor finalist Brenda Edwards.
