New lead for revellers as Sheffield venue opens after revamp

A new bar and restaurant has opened in a historic building on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield.

Pointing Dog Clubhouse was unveiled on ‘restaurant row’ this week after a £1.5 million revamp of the former Polish Ex-Serviceman’s Club, which was open for 50 years.

In keeping with its former use, the venue is open to members only, although joining is free and available to all.

It has dining space outside as well as inside, private rooms upstairs, and has created full and part time jobs for 35 people.

Owner Pointing Dog Group also has a venue in Bakewell.
