More than 100 entries in frst week of our contest

We are in week two of our competition and have already seen almost 100 entries for our theme ‘My Sheffield’. The standard of your images is great and it’s been a pleasure looking through them all. I have chosen four entries to showcase this week but there are plenty more.

Everyone’s perception of what ‘My Sheffield’ represents is so varied. From the view travellers get if they arrive in our city by train, to celebrating our heritage or street art - your entries really make our diverse city shine.

There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit so keep them coming because the competition will run until March 16 and you can win a Canon G9X mk 2 worth £449.

It doesn’t matter if your photos are taken on your phone or an SLR camera, keep snapping and make the most of this milder weather we are having.

Think about what this city means to you and capture this in a way that people may have never thought of.

“You don’t need high end gear for results” Simon Grason

I must say I am incredibly impressed by the quality of entries into the competition so far and it’s only been a week - so I’m sure there’s a lot more to come.

It’s clear from the images that people are using all sorts of cameras from smartphones to professional DSLRs and that’s fantastic.

With a topic like this you don’t need high-end gear to be able to go out and capture great results, so I’d encourage anyone with any sort of device that can capture an image to get out there and get snapping. Remember we’ve got a fantastic prize on offer for the most month of In Focus and every single entry has a chance of winning a superb £449 bridge Canon G9X camera. The theme is My Sheffield for the next three weeks.

If you’re struggling for inspiration why not check out some of the entries on the new Sheffield Telegraph Instagram page which has been launched this week @sheffieldtelegraph.

Also, remember to bring your membership voucher from this page in to us at Harrison Cameras on London Road to receive 10 per cent off all printing and our special Sony WX500 bundle deal at £250.

Happy snapping!
