Specialists from Sheffield Hallam University used lasers to measure a scale model of the planned 30-metre high statue, before a digital version was created using Dassault Systemes 3DExperience technology at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in Catcliffe
The Man of Steel is due to be installed at Kimberworth, Rotherham, in 2015.
Artist Steve Mehdi said: “The 3D technology has allowed us to show not just what the installation will look like, but how it works as a long-term community resource.”
