Christmas cheese board tasting and coffee demonstrations will be held at a Sheffield food shop’s Christmas tasting this weekend.

Mr Pickles’, on Abbeydale Road, only stocks produce made in Yorkshire.

Staff are hosting their festive ‘meet the producer’ event this Saturday, November 14.

Producers including gin firm Locksley Distilling Company, Charlie’s Country Garden and Hummusija will attend sessions between 10am and 4pm.

Customers are invited to meet their favourite producers, try free samples and find out more about the range of festive goods, hampers and gifts available in store.

Paul Widdowson, owner of Mr Pickles’, said: “We’re really looking forward to Christmas.

“We’ve been busy sourcing lots of Christmas goodies and the shop looks great - I think it’s the fullest it’s ever been.

“The Christmas Meet the Producer event is an opportunity for customers to fire questions at our suppliers whilst sampling some of the produce we have in store. I’m pleased that we also have a couple of practical demonstrations lined up too.

“Frazer’s Coffee Roasters will show customers how to use a cafetiere and aeropress to make the perfect mug of coffee at home and we’ll be tasting Christmas cheese boards - with recommended beer and chutney pairings.

“We’ll also be on hand to take Christmas meat orders and advise on gift ideas including bespoke beer boxes and hampers.

“We know how stressful the run up to Christmas can be for some families and we’re here to help people get organised now so they can enjoy the festivities in full.”

Sessions start at 10am and run until 4pm.
