Are you a cook?

I like to cook home-made meals as often as I can, using locally-sourced fresh food.

Any cooking tips?

Don’t be afraid to experiment and add something different to a recipe.

What’s your favourite dish?

A winter warmer: a homemade shepherd’s pie or a casserole with chunky fresh bread.

And drink to go with it?

A nice chilled glass of rosé wine… or two!

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?

Napoleon’s in Ecclesall Road – I’ve never had a bad meal there. The extensive menu, presentation and service get top marks and I love their cocktails.

And pub?

I like nice family-friendly pubs. We go to The Elmwood at Beighton for their carvery and the kids can play.

What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?

A cold, tasteless meal at an Italian restaurant. When we mentioned it, the chef told us we were wrong !

And the best?

If not at Napoleon’s, then Cubana’s tasty tapas.

Your favourite TV cook?

The Hairy Bikers: simple and varied recipes and they have a great sense of humour. I have all their books and never a bad recipe yet.

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?

There are many great places to eat all over the city, offering a huge variety of different tastes and cultures.
