Are you a cook?

I try to be. I like to improvise so you feel you’re eating something different and cooking doesn’t seem like a chore.

Any cooking tips?

Grow your own herbs; they’re easy, cheap and enhance your cooking.

What’s your favourite dish?

I do enjoy steak, like a rib eye, with sundried tomatoes and a rocket salad.

And a drink to go with it?

A nice bottle of red with a peppery taste: something like a cabernet sauvignon or a tempranillo.

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?

My favourite kind of restaurant is always Italian, somewhere like Piccolino. I’ m also very lucky that Bella Blu is in my neighbourhood.

And pub?

The Mossbrook in Eckington. It’s near to work and is a friendly place to catch up when I’m out with the girls for food, drink and a natter.

What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?

Mutton curry. What can I say besides never again!

And the best?

My all-time best meal was probably a red snapper. It was cooked superbly and eaten al fresco – unbeatable.

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?

Sheffield has come a long way in the last few years. There’s definitely more choice and more on-trend places to eat – and I’m still working down the list of restaurants.
