Sarah Simpkins is creative director of Sheffield branding agency Tonik, which she runs with fiancé Joe Morris. They share a home with basset hound Harry. Sarah is also training her event horse, Alfie.

Are you a cook?

Yes, I love to cook and I’m good at it but Joe tends to dominate the kitchen these days.

Any cooking tips?

Marmite! It adds a punch to any tomato-based dish, such as chilli con carne or bolognese sauce.

What’s your favourite dish?

One of my favourite things in the world is warm, crusty bread with Brittany butter with sea salt crystals to accompany a really good prawn cocktail.

And a drink to go with it?

A decent Prosecco.

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?

I prefer to just relax whilst I eat and nothing beats a really good pub, maybe in Hope Valley.

And pub?

Probably Bungalows & Bears.

What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?

At an Italian place in South Shields, I had a ‘risotto’ but it was more like pig slop, complete with tinned peas!

And the best?

At the Vertigo & Moon Bar in Bangkok, an open-air restaurant on the 61st floor. Wagyu tenderloin was amazing, but that was topped by Joe proposing to me!

Your favourite TV cook?

Michel Roux Jr. I love watching him on Master Chef.

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?

It has some hidden gems, like The York, Broomhill and The Chequers at Froggatt.
