Are you a cook?

After moving out for university, then living alone while my dad travelled around Australia, my cooking has definitely improved!

Any cooking tips?

Allow plenty of time. It's more enjoyable when you're not in a rush and seems to taste better too.

What's your favourite dish?

In summer, anything barbecued with lots of salads; but in winter, a good hearty pie and mash.

And a drink to go with it?

White wine, prosecco or a cup of Yorkshire tea

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?

Mandar Inn on London Road: it does amazing authentic Chinese food.

And pub?

The Cricket Inn in Totley: a real country pub with open fires and fab views.

What's the worst meal you've ever had?

Bad service is worse than bad food – so at a nameless Italian on Ecclesall Road.

And the best?

The Chequers Inn at Froggatt for my Dad's birthday once. The setting, restaurant and service were fantastic.

Your favourite TV cook?

Mary Berry, because I love her cookbooks and she dresses amazingly!

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?

I love it that new places are always popping up and range of cuisines ever widening.
