Prosecco now comes direct to your door – on tap and perfectly chilled – thanks to party-lovers John and Jayne Gallagher of Millhouses and their friends Mark and Nikki Capper.

The couples discovered Piaggio Ape vans on holiday in Italy and realised this could be the perfect addition to their catering business. The result is Culaccino: a mobile prosecco and gin bar that will add fizz to any occasion within 20 miles of Sheffield S1.

Launched last week, it will tailor packages for everything from garden parties to corporate events, complete with glasses, parasol and lighting. See: www.prosecco-van.co.uk

SILVERSMITHS RELAUNCH

Silversmiths reopens tomorrow (Friday) with a lighter, brighter look and extended opening hours. The Arundel Street restaurant has been given a facelift and now plans to become a vibrant daytime destination, serving coffee and pastries from 10am and lunch from noon, as well as evening meals and new Sunday roasts.

WINNING WAYS

Fischer's Baslow Hall is celebrating the retention of its coveted Michelin star – the only one in this area.

Also celebrating are runners-up in this week's national Observer Food Monthly Awards: Picturehouse Social (best place to drink); Steam Yard (best cheap eats) and Urban Pantry (best independent retailer).

EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

Nonnas Italian restaurant in Ecclesall Road has presented a cheque for £1,749 to the Amatrice earthquake appeal – raised by donations of £1 from every pasta dish sold last month.
