Where do Sheffield’s leading restaurants go when they want a special staff night out?
In at least one case the answer is Fitzwilliam & West at the West One Plaza – where head chef and co-owner Chris Hawkins lays on a sumptuous banquet that features a whole beef wellington and a loin of venison with haggis, as well as duck, vegetables and hand cut chips… and that’s only the main course.
F&W rose to the challenge when Nonna’s wanted a special meal for staff last Christmas. And it went down so well that the Feast Menu has now become a regular feature at F&W for groups of eight or more.
The banquet, served on boards, slates and pots in the middle of the table, has proved a big hit for parties and corporate events.
“Its a quirky way to have sharing food. It really adds something different to a celebration,” says Chris, who offers free use of his function room for large groups.
lF&W is serving up a three-course meal on Friday, November 15, to raise funds for cancer charity Look Good, Feel Better.
Tickets for the event, including three hours of close-up magic, live music and dancing, are £20.
