Singing superstar Bruno Mars hits the Arena on Saturday night with his smash-hit show.

Sheffield is one of only four UK dates announced for the platinum-selling singer and the Atlantic singing star has begun his tour with a bang.

So what can the sell-out Sheffied crowd expect?

Last week the 28-year-old told fans at his concert at the Hydro in Glasgow that he loved the old-school songs.

“There’s a place in my heart for old-school music, and this is an attempt to write a song like the ones I grew up listening to,” said Hawaiian-born megastar Bruno before breaking into the synchronised-dancing Soul Train rush of Runaway Baby.

Fans can expect a fast-paced show which never flags with its bewildering level of hyperactivity, where Mars tries on various tones and styles for size through its 90 minutes.

According to those who saw the Glasgow show Runaway Baby is the purest example of what Mars gets right with his music. It borrows from the past and offers a very modern pop thrill at the same time.

Expect an overflow of action and movement and a promise to “take us to the stars… to that special place”.

Bruno Mars is undoubtedly among contemporary pop’s most gifted and compelling artists. And with global sales currently certified at over 50 million singles sold worldwide, the 14-time Grammy Award nominee has fully proven himself as a true superstar.
