Folk singer’s hat trick of nominations

Sheffield-based folk singer Fay Hield has been nominated for three honours at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

The lecturer in music at the University of Sheffield is shortlisted for Folk Singer of the Year and, with the band Full English, for Best Album and Best Group. She appears in Full English, a project based on a digital archive of folk songs, alongside luminaries of the folk world.

She released her debut solo album, Looking Glass, three years ago and has own group, Fay Hield & The Hurricane Party.
