n Bruce Foxton Back In The Room (Basstone)

WITH The Jam and Stiff Little Fingers on his CV, bass man Bruce was entitled to another solo outing.

That Foxton’s past permeates some of the content isn’t a bad thing, either, not least Paul Weller featuring on three songs, including single/highlight Number Six, but the album is Foxton’s affair.

n Dee Delroy Williams Singer Man (SunSka)

FOR a while you were more likely to catch this chap in The Bill or ’70s series The Saint, having retired briefly from reggae to be a dad.

Lured back into music by Desmond Dekker in 1981, and appearing in Batman Returns, Singer Man showcases a humble veteran with a warm, agile voice and outlook.

THE Great American Rap Album Pt1, to complete the elaborate title, this fourth album from the Chicago MC is the “equal half” of a US history documentary and rap skill exhibition.

The Ferrari-loving artist digs deep for righteous inspiration but tonsil tangles with a firm grip on commercial ideals.
