The Star exclusive album, in association with Sheftival organisers, Real Radio and Sheffield International Venues, features songs by 10 acts who will be performing live at Sheffield’s Don Valley Bowl this weekend, August 4 and 5, 2012.

It includes a track by Good Enough Britpop trio Dodgy, a song by Sheffield’s Grammy Award winner Eliot Kennedy for new city teen sensation, Max, and the forthcoming single from home grown diva Laura Steel - ahead of its commercial release in October.


We gave away six great songs for you yesterday - all by bands who are performing in The Tramlines Arena, mainly on the Real Radio main stage.

Four other songs, all dance tracks by acts to perform on the The Monkey Bump Dance Tent, are now also available below to complete your album.


Sheftival’s star-studded line-up - see full details, dates and timings at www.sheftival.com - will also include the Noisettes, Stooshe, Joe McElderry and Lemar tomorrow, with Marcus Collins, Misha B, Lawson and The Lightning Seeds on Sunday - plus many more, with a total of 80 bands and eight stages.


There will be more than 1,000 performers, 25 sports, three markets, a huge fairground, gourmet food stalls, 12 bars, a giant bungee, free ice-skating and more.


Much of the festival, including many sports activities, are free to access on the 25-acres site with the festival timed to celebrate Sheffield golden girl Jessica Ennis’ Olympic final.

Thre are three main areas including Sheftival Live, a free big screen Olympics viewing zone at Don Valley Stadium supported by BBC Radio Sheffield.

That’s where sports fans have been cheering on Jessica Ennis. The big screen is open today, Saturday, with sports activities, from 9.30am to 10pm, then tomorrow, Sunday, 10am to 5pm.


Sheftival of Sport is in the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, where there will be free ‘have-a-go’ sports activities, demonstrations and tournaments.

PART 1 - THE TRAMLINES ARENA

Track 01. Dodgy - What Becomes of You, Shandy Weather remix.
Dodgy are a power-pop trio who were originally together for 7 years and sold over a million records worldwide. Their biggest anthems were Staying Out For The Summer, Good Enough and If You’re Thinking of Me.

Track 02. Laura Steel - Overdrive. 
Laura is a local singer/ songwriter who is set for total global domination. She is currently putting the finishing touches to her highly anticipated debut LP, recording in LA, London and New York. Her sound is pop/electro with rock elements.

Track 03. Max - Life Is Real.
Sheffield teen sensation Massimo Restaino, or Max to his fans, is already an accomplished singer, song-writer and multi-instrumentalist –  aged just 15. Here’s a new track written and produced for him by Sheffield’s own starmaker Eliot Kennedy, who has produced and written hits for everyone from The Spice Girls to Take That.

Track 04. Sarah Mac - Fire. 
Singer/songwriter Sarah is Sheffield’s little treasure, combining dramatic piano parts and pretty melodies with unique soulful vocals to create a perfect mix of catchy jazzy/poppy tracks.

Track 05. The Clench - All Those Things. 
A ragtag bunch of miscreants dishing out dirty cowboy-tinged rock’n’roll - music to steal horses by.

Track 06. Bloodsport - 20202016. 
Sheffield based afro-beat/noise-rock band.

 

PART 2 - THE MONKEY BUMP DANCE TENT

Track 07. Rogue State - Axiom
R8 Records co-founder, Rogue is a Sheffield legend who has received support from Public Enemy and is credited as an inspiration to The Beastie Boys!

Track 08. Arie - Redwood Sequoia  
Arie has been active in the Sheffield music scene for many years, as part of Cold Up Norf and the Sequoia Sound System. 

Track 09. Smiley Maxx - Bank Smasha Infidel

Track 10. Autograff & Walter Ego - In the VIP 
Autograff and Walter Ego are two rising stars of the Sheffield underground music seen. Both playing for many years, this is a rare collaboration from an joint EP they produced.
