South Yorkshire’s biggest ever sport and music festival weekend will be at Don Valley Bowl, Sheffield, on August 4 and 5.
It’s timed to celebrate Sheffield’s Jess Ennis going for Olympic gold, on the Saturday – with a 48 square metre screen to watch, in the adjoining Don Valley Stadium.
Festival-goers can try scores of free sports activities on the site, including EIS Sheffield, with displays of judo and boxing, zumba and boxercise fitness classes, plus a Hallamshire FA Junior futsal tournament and table tennis competitions.
Sheffield Eagles rugby league and Sheffield Steelers ice hockey teams will be there.
Armchair fans can join in with an interactive sport technology zone.
Other highlights include free ice-skating and a children’s carnival, fairground rides, arts and crafts, gourmet food stalls and a real ale trail.
A family day ticket, for two adults and two children aged under-18, is normally £40.
