Summer Live star Ella Eyre hopes to celebrate more than Hallam FM’s 40th birthday this weekend - debut If I Go is heading for the Top 10 singles chart, writes Graham Walker.

The 20-year-old pop sensation has already ben to number one with Rudimental, on Waiting All Night, and featured on Naughty Boy and Wiz Khalifa’s Think About It.

She was a huge hit at T in the Park this weekend and her sequined catsuit that turned more than a few heads - including that of Happy star Pharrell Williams. He found here a real spectacle - he asked to borrow her gold sunglasses.

She is one of many stars performing at Summer Live - a pop party celebrating radio station Hallam FM’s 40th birthday at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena on Friday, July 18.

She has spent much of 2014 finishing her debut album due for release later this year as well as completing her first sold out headline tour – many of the venues upgraded due to the high demand for her energetic live show.

Sophisticated, powerful and smart the Londoner has already bagged a BRIT Award for her killer soulful vocal on Rudimental’s drum and bass stomper Waiting All Night and she was also named runner up of the Brits Critics Choice Award, number two in the BBC Sound of 2014 as well as being tipped across the board by everyone from Vevo, MTV, Billboard and 1Xtra.

Named after the First Lady of Song, Ella Fitzgerald, music was always the driving force in this Jamaican/English/Maltese singer/songwriter’s life.
