Singing sensation George Ezra is on the final leg of his headline UK tour and we’ve got tickets to be won for Sheffield, writes Graham Walker.
He will play the Leadmill next Saturday, June 14.
Ezra, who cites Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie as his musical influences, has been described as bluesy, with a voice beyond the years.
Breakthrough debut EP, the Did You Hear The Rain?, was released late last year.
Led by its title track and radio favourite, Budapest, it peaked at number six on the iTunes Album Chart and propelled him into the top five of the BBC Sound of 2014.
His debut studio album, Wanted on Voyage, will be released on June 30.
Last summer he played the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival. He has supported the likes of Lianne La Havas and Tom Odell.
But now he’s the headline act and after selling out 22 sold UK shows earlier this year he added eight dates, including Sheffield.
His tour culminates in his biggest headline show to date, at London’s Electric Ballroom, on June 18.
Remaining tou dates are Manchester, Academy 2, June 12; Edinburgh, The Liquid Room, June 13; Sheffield, Leadmill, June 14; Birmingham, Glee Club, June 16; Brighton, Concorde 2, June 17; London, Electric Ballroom, June 18.
Tickets for his Ledamill gig are £8, available fromn the venue in person, call 0114 221 2828 or visit www.leadmill.co.uk
