“The tour’s going to be fun. We’ve had extra dates put in and I’m really happy that we’re going to have trhe chance to play in Sheffield,’’ he said.

“It’s going to be very exciting, a little bit different with a few guests coming on and doing duets with me. I’ve a book load of ideas.

“It’s also going to be fun for the crowd. We’re going to break down the barrier of audience and performer, we’re going to really involve the crowd.”

Known as ‘the nation’s tenor’, Bring Him Home, the showstopper from Les Miserables, was the first song he ever performed on stage at the age of 14.

Little did he know that one day he would be singing the hit song to adoring fans in his own Bring Him Home tour, covering most of Britain’s finest concert halls.

His latest hit album of the same name has also gone gold.

The former Blackpool born apprentice car mechanic, who worked at a sports car factory, would often sing to entertain his colleagues.

One day he was overheard by a customer who was so impressed he suggested Boe take it further.

And so many are thankful that he did.

He has already starred on Broadway, TV and featured in the Les Miserables 25th anniversary concert at the O2 Arena, which has been a best selling DVD. He’s back in the West End production for the second half of the year.

Decca Records and SJM have now announced that due to overwhelming demand, with a number of tour dates already sold out, another 14 shows have been added.

But fans will have a wait. It starts at Bristol’s Colston Hall in December and ends in Birmingham in February, 2012.

Tickets for his eagerly awaited South Yorkshire concert are available from Sheffield City Hall box office. Call 0114 2789789, or book online, at www.alfieboe.com
