She’ll put a spell on you. Sweet as molasses and woodsmoke, clear and burning as summer sun, Brown casts magic with a voice which is the inheritor of Leadbelly, Nina Simone, Bonnie Raitt and Roberta Flack.

Based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. the 32 year old grew up playing the saxophone and drums in church before writing and singing her own songs.

Her albums, including 2007 debut the Best You Can, have been met with critical acclaim.

After You, her biggest hit single to date, featured in the BBC and HBO television movie, Mary and Martha, starring Hilary Swank.

A live performance of the song was highlighted by CMT as a Top Ten Moment of the 2012 Americana Music Festival, in Nashville.

Brown’s 2013 album, Back-Road Highways, was a favourite amongst reviewers’ Top 10 end of year lists.

Now you can find out what all the fuss is about when Brown returns to the UK for a live tour, playing The Greystones, Greystones Road, Sheffield on Monday, September 22.
