AS we enter Olympics year, there’s a chance to experience the greatest race on earth. The Christmas show at the Crucible Studio is Hare and Tortoise, a new adaptation of Aesop’s fable, a story about racing, opposites, time and friendship.
The co-production with tutti frutt and York Theatre Royal is an adaptation by Brendan Murray. As the two competing friends, Tortoise is played by Luisa Guerreiro, whose previous credits include another children’s favourite, Dr Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat and the National Theatre and newcomer Barnaby Southgate is the Hare. It features choreography by Ruth Tyson-Jones and original music by Dominic Sales.
tutti frutti productions are a national touring company based in Leeds who have has been specialising in shows for children aged three and above since 1991. The company tour nationally and internationally to schools, venues, arts centres and village halls.
