Members of Splinters Theatre Group were thrilled by a surprise video message and rehearsal visit from West End performer and rising star Megan Louch.
Megan, who hails from Rotherham, is currently part of the cast of Dirty Dancing which is touring the country, but her professional debut was in the role of Ivanka in the West End production of the musical Loserville.
She was part of the original cast starting out at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, before moving to London, and she shared that experience with Splinters when she popped into rehearsals.
Megan told them: “Doing Loserville is all about high-energy performances and having a great time, and if they have half as much fun as I did, they will not only have an amazing time but the audiences will too”.
Richard Granger, who plays the theatre group’s lead role of Michael Dork, said: “It was great, she gave up her time to come and meet us, she gave us some brilliant insights to how the original pro cast created the roles and described to us the crazy ‘sci-fi’ costumes that were tailored for her to wear in the show”.
Loserville, set in 1971, is written by Elliot Davis and James Bourne (of Busted and Son of Dork fame).
Michael Dork may be a computer geek but he’s invented something that could change the world. He’s also discovered girls – a prospect (almost) as exciting as his love of binary.

Loserville runs at the Montgomery from Wednesday, September 21, to Saturday, at 7.15pm plus 2.15 Saturday matinee. Tickets via 07790413537, firstname.lastname@example.org or the Sheffield Theatres box office.
Splinters Theatre Group are encouraging audience members to go in costume dressed as geeks with a prize each night.
