Star-crossed lovers head for Peace Gardens

THERE will be romance, love and tragedy in the heart of Sheffield next week.

The Peace Gardens are set to host its first open air theatre productions and is kicking off with Romeo and Juliet.

The show, running alternate events to Twelfth Night, will see actors from GB Theatre Company dressed in traditional costumes and braving the great outdoors.

Audience members will witness shipwrecks, swordfights, hidden identities, forbidden marriage and the poetry and prose of the ‘star-crossed lovers’.

The cast includes Gabriel Thomson as Romeo and Lucy Wray as Juliet. Families are invited to take warm clothing and waterproofs as umbrellas are not permitted.

Romeo and Juliet is being staged at 7pm on Thursday and Saturday, with Twelfth Night on Friday. Tickets, from £7 to £15, are available from 0114 256 5567.
