Tutti frutti and York Theatre Royal return to Sheffield Theatres this Christmas with an enchanting new adaptation of this fairy tale.

Imagine a place where what you see is not what it seems, with a hidden castle and hidden stories, where the princesses don’t know they are princesses and the princes don’t really want to become kings and where appearances can be deceptive!

Writer Mike Kenny and Leeds-based tutti frutti have created a funny and magical retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s story. This fantastical production is aimed at children aged three and upwards. Director Wendy Harris said: “The play is full of humour, with three actor musicians creating delightful characters, a wild array of princesses and a unique soundtrack – including the playing of silver spoons!” The show beds down until Saturday, January 3. Tickets from the venue, online at Sheffield Theatres or call 0114 249 6000.
