A host of stars are lined up to appear at the first Sheffield Film and Comic Con at the Motorpoint Arena this weekend.

The event will bring to Sheffield stars from TV, film and comics as well along with photo shoots, panels, autograph sessions and hundreds of stalls full of memorabilia to browse all in one place. 

Jetting in from America are Dirk Benedict (The A-Team’s “Faceman” Peck  and Lt Starbuck in the original Battlestar Galactica) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s Chase Masterson,   Kitty Swink and Armin Shimerman (also Principal Snyder in Buffy the Vampire Slayer), along with Australian Virginia Hey from Farscape and Mad Max 2,

From closer to home a large contingent from Doctor Who include previous Doctors Paul McCann and Sylvester McCoy, various companions Frazer Hines, Louise Jameson, Bonnie Langford and Sophie Aldred, John Leeson, the voice of K9, Sontaran Dan Starkey, Terry Molloy (Davros) and visual effects designer Mat Irvine.

Also lined up to appear iare various Star War actors - Jeremy Bulloch, Ian Liston, Jack McKenzie, Paul Blake and Rusty Goffe,

From Game of Thrones are Amrita Acharia, contortionist Pixie Le Knot, Josephine Gillan, Miltos Yerolemou and Burn Gorman (also Torchwood, Pacific Rim and The Dark Knight Rises).

Other familiar faces are Chris Barrie and Craig Charles from Red Dwarf and Anthony Head of  Buffy the Vampire Slayer 

Also putting in appearances are Eve Myles from Torchwood, John Rhys Davies (Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones), Stephanie Leonidas from MirrorMask, Defiance and Whitechapel, Bond girl Carole Ashby and wrestling guests Steve Lynskey and Rob Terry.

Sheffield-born comic creator Paul Grist will be among a contingent of writer-artists.

On display will be Michael Knight’s Kitt car from Knight Rider and the Van from the A-Team. 

The event will feature the Cosplay where costumes are displayed on stage, a comic zone where fans can meet comic writers and artists, comic creation master classes and sales of rare editions.

There will be an artist alley for amateur comic and manga artists to chill out, draw and meet other creative. The Video Game Zone will host both modern and retro gaming with many casual-play and full-scale tournaments throughout the day.

Visitors can browse hundreds of stalls selling collectable movie merchandise, costumes and toys and there will be a large number of free guest talks and several paid for premium guest talks over the weekend. 

There will be a Green Screen Photo shoot with the Tardis Console, as well as the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones where punters can get a picture for £5. People can also book to have their photo taken with the special guests, costing from £10-£15.
