Death-defying action hits the big screen next week in Sheffield and we’ve got tickets - not for the latest Hollywood blockbuster but the 10th Sheffield Adventure Film Festival, writes Graham Walker.

Wing-suit flying, climbing, biking, skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, parkour running, free-diving and more will be showcased with over 100 adventure, travel and extreme sports films, plus talks by athletes and film-makers, from Friday to Sunday, March 20 to 22.

Screenings are at Showroom Cinema in Sheffield, UK’s biggest independent cinema outside London, and at the Stoddart Lecture Theatre at Sheffield Hallam University.

One ticket buys you a multi-film screening so you can see several films in one hit. Passionate about your sport? Try specialist selections. Want a high energy hit? Book an Adrenaline showing. Fancy inspiration and escapism? Go for ‘Sprit of Adventure’

Young Adventurer morning showings have sold out for the last few years. This year boasts Too Cool For School sessions for slightly older children and a Teen Screen..

Times, trailers and tickets for the festival, known as SHAFF, are at www.shaff.co.uk or call the Showroom box office on 0114 2757727.

WIN TICKETS

We’ve got tickets to be won, in a free draw, to the Adrenaline Films, for those aged 18 and over, on Saturday night - two pairs for 7.45pm and two pairs for 9.30pm.

In a separate draw, win a family ticket of four for the U-cert midday Young Adventurer shows, for either Saturday or Sunday.

If you wish to enter both, for either the 18 or U cert film shows, simply enter both draws.
