The tour travels from Belfast to London via stop overs in Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Sheffield.

The throttle-twisting, adrenalin-charged indoor offspring of Motocross, Arenacross takes the most spectacular elements of outdoor MX, boils them down into a concentrated cocktail and then shoehorns them into arenas onto purpose-built dirt tracks. Racing is short, sharp and shockingly spectacular with huge triple jumps, murderous mogul sections and fast, banked corners all designed to provide a high-octane sensory feast.

With Freestyle Motocross the competition takes place 40 feet above the track with riders hitting purpose-built ramps and then attempting to out-do each other as they whip and back-flip

100kg motorcycles in a death-defying display of aerial gymnastics. Once considered MX mavericks, freestylers are now highly-paid sporting stars who compete in year-round world tour events such as the X Games and Red Bull X-Fighters.

“The fans went mad for Arenacross this year,” says e22 Sports Managing Director Matt Bates, “and I was determined to take it to Sheffield which has such a rich tradition of indoor racing. It’s such a vibrant, exciting, colourful sport and Sheffield is the perfect city to showcase this incredible show. After the success of this winter’s all new Arenacross series it made sense to increase the tour to take in more cities and I’m really pleased to have added Sheffield as well as Newcastle and London’s infamous Wembley Arena for 2014”.

We’re aiming to hit 50,000 spectators over the winter in a showcase of indoor racing and Freestyle action and what better place to do it than the comfort of an arena.”

The 2013 Arenacross tour was an amazing success, selling out venues across the country, turning on a new mainstream family audience to the joys of AX and showing established fans the true potential of the sport.

Freestyle Motocross legend Edgar Torronteras has confirmed he’ll be jumping at all seven rounds of the 2014 Arenacross tour as well as Bry MacKenzie, Kristian Whatley, Steven Clarke, Adam Chatfield, Elliott Banks-Browne, Tyler Villopoto, Angelo Pellegrini, Brad Anderson, Dylan Woodcock, Fabien Izoird, Graeme Irwin, Todd Kellett, Gregory Aranda & Jamie Law & Daniel McCoy.

Barnsley 11-year-old George Simpson will make his Small Wheel 85cc machine Arenacross debut at the Motorpoint.

“I’m very excited. It’s going to be an amazing experience,” he told The Star.
