Emergency services were deployed last night over concerns for the welfare of a woman on a bridge in Sheffield.

Passers-by raised the alarm at around 8.50pm over concerns for the welfare of a woman on a bridge over the A57 between Beighton and the Elmwood Farm pub.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services attended and the woman was found safe.”

The road was closed for a short time while police responded.
