Today, he has been named locally as 54-year-old David Hawley.

One neighbour told BBC Sheffield: “He was a good friend and we’re so shocked.”

His death is being treated as suspicious and a 39-year-old man is being held on suspicion of murder.

A police cordon is in place where the man’s body was found and officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries to find people who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.
