Lewis Kieran Grist, 24, of formerly of Rokeby Drive, Sheffield, had been having a row at Galaxy Pizza, on Wordsworth Drive, Parson Cross, before he lashed-out at a customer in the street, according to a Sheffield Magistrates’ Court hearing.
Prosecuting solicitor David Marshall told the hearing today, Thursday, March 12, that Grist was arguing with staff and as the customer left words were exchanged and he was attacked.

Grist, of Southey Avenue, Longley, pleaded guilty to assault by beating after the attack on July 17. He also admitted breaching a previously imposed suspended prison sentence order.
Helen White, defending, said the matter has been hanging over Grist for a long time and he has been diagnosed with a personality disorder and has undergone intensive treatment.
Ms White added that Grist is due to go back to work and he has secured new accommodation.

Miss White said: “It arises after an argument in a takeaway and he was coming to the rescue of his sister.”
Magistrates adjourned the case until March 26 to consider a probation service report before sentencing.
