Sheffield Eagles toasted their Wembley win with a glittering reception at the Town Hall.

The all-conquering rugby league heroes were given a civic reception by the city’s Lord Mayor to celebrate their victory in the inaugural 1895 Cup.

Players, officials, family and friends gathered to celebrate last month’s 36-18 win over Widnes at Wembley, the scene of the club’s iconic 1998 Challenge Cup Final victory.

Lord Mayor Coun Tony Downing led the speeches as players enjoyed a beer or two to celebrate their success.
