With singing waiters and a capacity which can host more than 500 guests, the Owlerton Experience Centre has already hosted its first wedding and more is to come.

The Penistone Road complex is an entertainment hub which boasts Owlerton Stadium, the OEC and Napoleons Casino.

A glitzy opening night was attended by more than 300 guests including comedian Billy Pearce, ex-boxing champion Ryan Rhodes and the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Coun Tony Downing.

Backed by businessman Dave Allen, the OEC has an array of tribute dinner nights lined up for 2020 and an evening with Sir Ian Botham.

Head chef Sam Lindsay, known to many from his time at Baldwins Omega, has devised some of the finest menus Yorkshire has to offer.

And since opening the doors, the feedback received for the food and service has delighted bosses..

Gary Cook, venue director, said: “I’m proud to say that our launch party was an absolute triumph, a fabulous event and it was such huge relief that all the hard work over the last 12 months reached a successful conclusion.

“Whatever way you care to express it, a great night out was had by all. Everything clicked, and our team were immense.

“The OEC, our stunning, state of the art, multi-purpose space, I firmly believe is the new go to venue in Sheffield for events and conferencing. We look forward to welcoming you here soon, to enjoy sampling some of Yorkshire’s finest hospitality.”
