New owners revealed as popular Sheffield hotel and restaurant changes hands
A Sheffield hotel owner has announced that she has handed the popular restaurant and hotel over after developing it from a ‘derelict wreck’ – to a ‘high quality destination dining’ chain.
Tiina Carr transformed the ‘derelict wreck’ Peace Guest House in S11 after acquiring it in 2014 and turned it into the boutique Brocco on the Park.
After turning the venue into a boutique hotel, restaurant Brocco Kitchen opened alongside and went on to be a favourite of diners across Sheffield with its Scandi themed cuisine.
The hotel and restaurant even featured on Kirstie Allsopp’s Location, Location, Location after impressing the presenter when she stayed over.
Now, Tiina has said thanked customers and staff alike, including chef Leslie, who will remain working at Brocco Kitchen, as she announced that she would no longer be running the venue.
Tiina Carr said: “This little birdy has flown the nest.
"Thank you all for a wonderful eight years – developing a derelict wreck into a beautiful boutique hotel and restaurant – has been quite an experience! I will miss you all so much but I know Brocco is in the very safe hands of chef Leslie, Nicola and the team.
"All I can say is thank you for your support and encouragement it has meant the world, please keep supporting Brocco they are counting on it!”
The restaurant and hotel will be taken over by Fine & Country, who run hospitality businesses in Thorpe Hesley near Rotherham and Stainborough near Barnsley.
This is their first venue in Sheffield, and the restaurant will reopen for the first time tomorrow, May 19.
