Are you a cook?
No. Spaghetti bolognese and omelettes are about my limit.

Any cooking tips?

Marry someone who is great at cooking.

What’s your favourite dish?

It’s hard to beat a roast dinner – especially my mums.

And a drink to go with it?

Cloudy Bay from New Zealand – a bit on the pricey side but exceptionally nice.

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?

I like places with good food and good atmosphere. Relish is always great and I love La Vaca in Broomhill.

And pub?

It has to be the Ranmoor Inn.

What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?

I ordered pigeon at a hotel on Lake Como on my honeymoon – I was trying to be sophisticated but it was so disgusting I had to run to the loo with it still in my mouth!

And the best?

Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, or Nobu.

Your favourite TV chef?

I’m not keen on any of them – there are too many cookery programmes on TV.

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?

There’s plenty of decent places, but not many outstanding ones. Where would you take someone who comes to Sheffield only once in their life?
