Business lunches are back on the menu at the Rutland hotel in Broomhill…

New head chef Lee Crookes spotted a gap in the market, for a lunch that doesn’t involve wasting half the dinner break. So he has introduced a new pre-book concept that allows business people to email their orders – and find their meal ready and waiting on arrival.

Lee, originally from Eckington, has spent the last 20 years working at clubs and hotels around the area. He left the Sheffield Park in 2011 to become senior sous chef at Tankersley Manor and is now enjoying the challenge of his first head chef’s post, at one of the city’s leading independent hotels.

“I’m excited at the opportunity of working at the Rutland, which has more flexibility and which will allow me to experiment and use a little more flair,” he says. “But I’m a firm believer in local, seasonal, homely, simple yet tasty food.”

The lunch menu offers homemade pies, pub classics and sandwiches from £5.95 – with a free drink thrown in – from noon to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
