Sheffield City Morris Men will break with tradition to welcome the New Year.
For 38 years, they have danced outside the Anglican cathedral “to help bring health and prosperity to Sheffield and its citizens in the year ahead”.
The redevelopment of the cathedral means a change of step - but not very far. The morris men will be performing outside the RC cathedral, St Marie’s, in Norfolk Row at noon.
Then they will then repair to another of their spiritual homes, the Gardener’s Rest in Neepsend Lane, “to replace lost liquid and lead some festive singing”.
