Gordon Ramsay will be introducing the cream of Sheffield’s culinary talent at an F Word-style cook-off on March 10.
At least, it may look like the irascible celebrity chef, but in reality it will be Britain’s Got Talent star Martin Jordan overseeing The Sheff Word – a contest between the chefs of Peppercorn restaurant in Abbeydale, Vittles of Broomhill and Spoon at Woodseats.
The event is being organised by Hallam University events management students in aid of local charity Help A Child Have A Chance.
Diners are invited to book a place in the university’s Hallam View Restaurant. Tickets are £5 and will include bubbly on arrival and coffee at the end of the meal.
Each restaurant will then cook a three-course meal for its allocated section of the room, showcasing the team’s skill and creativity.
At the end of the meal, guests will be invited to pay what they think their meal was worth – with all donations going direct to charity.
The identities of the chefs will then be revealed and winners will be announced, judged by the amount each meal has raised.
