Unleash your inner Willy Wonka! That was the invitation this week from Anne Ashforth and Kate Shepherd (pictured), owners of Cocoa Wonderland in Ecclesall Road.

To celebrate National Chocolate Week, the girls are inviting customers to let their imaginations run riot and reveal their most mouthwatering flavour combinations.

The best concoctions will be made into chocolates for customers to try, with the winner receiving a giant slab of their dream creation. Chocolate tasting and demonstrations are also available throughout the week.

A rebrand to relish

Relish, the popular Ecclesall Road eatery, has been rebranded this week as an American-style diner – ‘purveyors of meat & liquor’.

The venue, part of Sheffield’s BrewKitchen group, is offering southern soulfood with a craft beer twist. Think burgers and hotdogs with a choice of 14 toppings, plus sweets, sundaes and shakes.

Director Simon Webster says: “We’ve spent a lot of time researching the new concept… barbecue, smoking and ‘gourmet’ American diner fare is one of the biggest current food trends.

“We see the Relish site as our outlet for trying new things. We’re lucky to be in a position where we can be creative and give people what they want.”

Fancie in focus

Cupcake emporium Fancie has closed its Sharrowvale Road shop to focus on the company’s new Ecclesall Road HQ, which includes bakery, shop and bistro. Founder Amanda Perry, who put the original business into voluntary liquidation earlier this year, is keen to consolidate growth. “It’s all positive,” she says. “We’re really busy so couldn’t be happier. We just need to focus our efforts on one place.”

Six of the best

Rowleys, Baslow, is serving up an Italian wine tasting evening on Tuesday. Tickets £40 for six courses plus six wines.
