AN ESTIMATED crowd of up to 10,000 made the third Sheffield Pride festival in Endcliffe Park bigger than ever.
And members of the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community were determined not to let the weather spoil their day, last Saturday.
“There was a lot of rain at the start, and we thought it would never finish, but it did,” said Nik King, chair of Sheffield Pride.
“There was a rainbow at the end, which was apt.”
An invitation was extended across communities to enjoy the music, dance, cabaret and stalls.
As well as all the fun, visitors could find advice from a number of organisations and businesses supporting the LGBT community including the Irwin Mitchell Life Clinic.
Nik added: “The atmosphere was friendly and laidback, and it was inclusive.
“We wanted everybody to feel welcome.”
