A capacity 2,000-strong field ran along the Loxley Valley for the annual Percy Pud 10k – which celebrated its 21st anniversary this year.

Race director Richard Dunk said demand from runners had been unprecedented.

“The Percy Pud 10k is without doubt South Yorkshire’s most popular road race – the proof is in the pudding,” he added.

Everyone finishing the race, organised by the Steel City Striders, is presented with a Christmas pudding.
