Fans of Ant Middleton know him as a soldier, sniper and survivor.
They might not expect him to be a self help guru.
But his talk at Sheffield City Hall was full of little surprises, from his opening comments on commando daggers made in Sheffield, to how Middleton used a ‘bubble’ technique to cope with the horrors of war in the special forces.
He proved to be just as much of a natural talker as a natural adrenaline seeker – the evening lasted three hours without feeling dragged out.
It was cleverly interspersed with footage from his various TV shows and followed by a warm Q&A with the audience.
The words that hit home the most were about how Middleton insists a positive mindset to ‘attack’ challenges, while acknowledging situations themselves can be negative. It summed up his success, while inspiring others.
