Art project persuades more young to use their votes

Political artwork created by young people is due to go on display at a Sheffield theatre.

GCSE students from Tapton School, teenagers from the Forge group in Shiregreen and youngsters from charity SAYiT will all have their creations featured at the Montgomery Theatre from July 4.

The work was created during the Our Corner project, a partnership between arts organisation Ignite Imaginations and The Crick Centre.

It aims to examine the potential of arts-based community projects to promote political activity, give confidence and inspiration to young people and support them to use their vote.

The show will remain at the theatre until September 17 before moving to Bank Street Arts as part of the Festival of the Mind.
